The Annual Parish Meeting is a meeting of the local government electors of the parish. Its purpose is to discuss parish affairs and any issue that affects the parish and its residents. It is a meeting of the people, not the council. Any registered elector may speak, ask questions, make suggestions, and vote. The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council. Is where Councillors elect the Chair and Vice‑Chair, make annual appointments, and set out key governance arrangements for the year ahead. Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe, but only councillors take part in the decision making.

Full council meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month except for January and February, when meetings are combined, and August, when there is a Planning and Finance meeting only. Meetings are generally held in Yalding Village Hall at 7.00pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings but the ability to address The Council has temporarily been withdrawn.
