Annual Parish

It is a meeting of the people, not the council. Any registered elector may speak, ask questions, make suggestions, and vote. The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council. Is where Councillors elect the Chair and Vice‑Chair, make annual appointments, and set out key governance arrangements for the year ahead. Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe, but only councillors take part in the decision making.

Full Council
Full council meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month except for January and February, when meetings are combined, and August, when there is a planning and finance meeting only. Meetings are generally held in Yalding Village Hall at 7.00pm but occasionally at St Mary’s Laddingford (see Agenda). All members of the public are welcome to attend but, if you wish to address the Council on any subject, you must please advise the clerk on 01622 814134 or email to clerk@yaldingparishcouncil.gov.uk at least forty-eight hours in advance of your intention to do so and forward a transcript of your address. If more than one person wishes to speak on any matter a spokesperson will need to be appointment. You are reminded that your address should be courteous and should not include any complaint against either the Council or any Councillor. These matters should be dealt with by a written complaint sent to the clerk. We are not permitted to discuss items that are not on the agendas so, unless the issue is urgent or in respect of a planning application, Councillors may agree for it to be placed on the agenda for the next Parish Council meeting.
